Lord Brahadesswara
"Rathnaihi Kalpitham aasanam
Himachalaihi snanamca divyambaram"

True
I felt the Divine Power after a refreshing Bath in the Ganges(manasa) at your Lotus Feet
when I started admiring(again after a few years of my earlier visits)
I cd see Your Divine grace in every mason's hands
Raja Raja Cholan's Benevolence
and in every stone that is talking even Today about those days
1200 years back!

The Main Temple of Master Architecture
Well Balanced
of 225 feet height

The Nandi is 12 feet Height of Single Stone wonder
The Main Deity opposite to Nandi is Brahadeeswarar
of 13 feet height with 10 feet inside the Yoke
Making a Total of 23 feet for the Main Lord!

The Main entrance after the Mote which is still seen around the Temple

The Lord's abode
architectural marvel everywhere for 213 feet height!
The Top Dome is a single stone of 24 tonne weight in semi sphere
The Kumbam is of 12 feet Height equal to the Nandi' height
At no point of time the shadow of this Kumbam falls outside this semisphere stone!
Calculate how they have deisigned this in 828 AD
and how they have lifted this 24 T stone all the way to 213 height!
(It is said the Stone was drawn by several elephants on a slope from faraway Trichy till it was rested on top of this Temple!)

A token piece of architecture on the southern side

The surroundings inside the Temple can accomodate a whole village in times of war!

View from Southern side

View from North Western corner

Lord Vinayaka's temple on the southern corner

View from the North western corner

A symmetrical Temple for Lord Muruga on the Northern Corner

(Since the minute architectural beauty of this temple cannot be described in One Blog
will continue in yet another blog!)

"Karacharana krithamvaa Kayacham Karmajam vaa
sravananayanajam vaa manasam vaaparadam"

"Whatever mistakes I have committed with my hands&feet, with my words&deeds, with my eyes&ears,or even with my thoughts ,whether by omission or commission, please forgive me Oh Great Lord, for You are the Ocean of Mercy!"
Sarvameva
